Dial-up setup using Windows XP

Step 1.

Click on the Start menu located at the bottom left of your screen and click on Control Panel

Step 2.

If you are presented with the following screen, click on Switch to Classic View, if not go to the next step

Step 3.

Double-Click on Network Connections.

Step 4.

In the blue panel on the left hand side, choose the Create a New Connection option.

Step 5.

In the New Connection Wizard which will pop up, click the Next.

Step 6.

Choose the "Connect to the Internet option and click Next.

Step 7.

Choose the Set up my connection manually option and click Next.

Step 8.

Choose the Connect using a DialUp modem option and click Next.

Step 9.

Type in a name for the connection. Ex. Storm High Speed, and click Next.

Step 10.

The wizard will now be asking you for the local dial up number, enter the phone number that is local for you; being either Brockville(613-498-0674) or Ottawa(613-567-4068).

Step 11.

The wizard will now be asking for your username and password. If you are a Storm client dialing the local Ottawa number or if you are a Superaje client dialing the local Perth/Brockville number, your username will be everything before the @ sign in your email address(Ex: If your email address was user@storm.ca, your username would be user). All others must use the complete email address as your username(Ex: If your email address was user@storm.ca, use the full email address as your username).

Once your username has been entered, enter your password in both the password and the confirm password fields.

Once both password boxes have your password in them, go down and uncheck the last check box saying Turn on Internet Connection Firewall for this connection and click Next.

Step 12.

All the required information has been entered to finish the wizard. Click Finish.

Step 13.

In the Network Connections window, you should now see a new icon titled Storm Internet Services (Or whatever you decided to call the connection). Right-click on this icon and then click on Properties.

Step 14.

In the new window that will popup, click on the Networking Tab at the very top. Double-click on the Internet Protocol TCP/IP option in the list located in the middle of the page.

Step 15.

Choose the option that says Use the following DNS Server addresses which will now let you type in the two boxes(Preferred DNS server and Alternate DNS server).
In the Preferred DNS box type 192.168.3.3, and then type 192.168.2.2 in the Alternate DNS box. Once you are done click on OK then click OK again on the other window.
