Publishing using Microsoft Web Publishing Wizard
Publishing using the Web Publishing Wizard is a very simple process to follow.
After you have created and saved your web pages using Front Page Express or another HTML editing program, you can start the Web Publishing Wizard by going to Start | Programs | Internet Explorer | Web Publishing Wizard and you will get the following welcome screen: and click Next to continue
What you do next, depends on how many pages you have created.
- If you are only going to upload one page, select Browse Files and choose the file that you are going to upload. **Note - if you want this to be the first page that people see when they come to your site, you must call this page index.html. The picture on the left
OR
- If you are going to be uploading multiple pages and pictures in different sub-directories, select Browse Folders and choose the directory that contains the files and subdirectories you would like to transfer. The picture on the right

Where are you publishing to? Give the server a friendly Name to identify it. For example : Storm Internet and click Advanced

Choose FTP from the dropdown list, and click Next

Next, you must type in the location of Storm's server http://www.storm.ca/~username - where username is the part of your e-mail address before the @ sign. The local directory was specified earlier, so just confirm that it is correct, and click Next

If you receive a warning message, click NO

You must then specify the correct directory on our server: for the FTP Server - use www.storm.ca, and for the subfolder, use public_html and click Next

Click Finish to completethe process

Enter your username and password - in lower case letters. This is the same username and password that you use when dialing in to Storm Internet. Once you have done this, click OK

If your files were successfully published, you will receive a notification like the one below, if you do not receive this message, start the wizard again and verify that you entered you information correctly

If you would like to view your published page type the following into your WWW browser: http://www.storm.ca/~username - where username=YOUR logon name
