Australian International Arms' M10 B1 Sport rifle is essentially a lighter weight version of the No.4 mk.IV 'full wood' Lee Enfield rifle. Like its military stocked counterpart, the M10 Sport comes equipped with a long list of standard features and technological improvements (Click here for detailed descriptions and photos).
The M10 Sport fills the same role of the once plentiful surplus Lee Enfields which were modified for use by hunters and outdoorsmen, who did not require the added protection and heft of full-length wood stocks for their guns. These 'sporterized' SMLE rifles were lighter and more convenient to carry in the bush while retaining the rugged reliability and quick handling for which they were renowned.
AIA's M10 B1 Sport is more than just a 'short stocked mk.IV.' As with the No.4 mk.IV, every B1 Sport's stock is hand made from solid teak and given a hand-rubbed tru-oil(tm) finish one would expect on fine rifles which cost much more. In addition to this the M10 B1 Sport is fitted with a Monte Carlo butt stock with cheekpiece which provides the comfort and feel hunters and target shooters favour. With its free-floating chrome-lined barrel with target crown the M10 B1 Sport remains an accurate yet lighter, more compact rifle than its 'military trim' counterpart.
