We insist on earning your loyalty every day. Our no-commitment packages will always be available to our customers. Contracts are used to pass on savings in return for loyalty commitments up front, but never mandatory.

Local Service and Support

Our support calls are handled by local Storm employees, not outsourced to an overseas call center. We think it is important to use common sense when dealing with a support call, not a hierarchical question list.

Local Ownership

Storm opened its doors in Ottawa in June 1996 and was originally founded by four local businessmen, including Herb Hartwig, who remains with the company.  Early on ownership changed and, in 2003, Storm was purchased by two local businessmen, Charles Walther and Birket Foster.  In April 2020, choosing to retire, Charles Walther sold his interest in Storm to Birket Foster.  Mr. Foster takes on the role of Chairman and CEO (Chief Enablement Officer) where he will continue helping Storm grow its commercial and residential lines of business.

Meet Storm’s Office of the President
MICHEL LALONDE
VP SALES AND OPERATIONS
Michel joined Storm in 2007 and was appointed VP of Sales and Operations in October 2017.
Penny Lane
Manager, HR & Administration
Penny joined in March 2020. She is also the employer representative on Storm’s Joint Health & Safety Committee.
DANNY FRANGIONE
CFO/Systems & IT
Danny joined in 2014 and was appointed Storm’s CFO in October 2017. He is also responsible for the IT systems and tools that are used to management Storm’s network.
HERB HARTWIG
CTO
Herb is one of Storm’s original founders and has been with the company since its inception in 1996. Herb is Storm’s CTO, and he’s responsible for the architecture of the company’s network and all technological issues within the organization.
GAYLE MOORE
Corporate Secretary/Special Projects
Gayle joined Storm in 2004. She retired as Storm’s VP of HR and Administration in November, 2020, but stays on part-time as Corporate Secretary/Special Projects.
CHRIS REINKELUERS
VP, Network Infrastructure
Chris joined in 2012 and is responsible for Storm’s wireless network infrastructure.
