RENO - Michel JM Renaud – Biography
Everything really
started in 1989 when the PBS Network was broadcasting one of its many
painting programs hosted by William (Bill) Alexander, a German-American
painter bursting with vitality as he taught the art of painting with oil
– the effect was instant with Mr. Renaud. With time, other exceptional
artists were added to Mr. Renaud’s list including such greats as Bob Ross
(oil), Ted Madden (watercolor), the Irish painter Frank Clarke
(watercolor), Jerry Yarnell (acrylics and oil), Gary et Kathwren Jenkins,
both specialists in their own rights in the art of flower painting and
exotic birds (oil), including Wyland, a multi-faceted artist and
specialist of the ocean marine life since the 1970s, and other prominent
artists.
Mr. Renaud undertook other courses on painting
techniques with impressionist and wildlife painter David Vincent Mercer, a well-known Quebec artist in the Outaouais region. He
also attended the highly sought-after Bob Ross oil painting on canvas
seminar and workshop (The Joy of Painting) specializing in landscapes.
During the 1960s and 1970s, Mr. Renaud followed
courses in architectural drafting as well as in graphic arts at Algonquin
College of Applied Arts & Technology, in Ottawa; he completed studies
in Marketing Management and participated in a Public Relations
Accreditation Program under the sponsorship of the Canadian Public
Relations Society of Ottawa. Other programs include Entrepreneurial
Studies (Ottawa) and Community Development studies (Ottawa). Mr. Renaud
worked close to twenty (20) years in printing and communications services
associated to the Public Service of Canada.
Today, Mr. Renaud is retired and takes advantage of
the picturesque scenery found in the Gatineau valley region to pursue his
passion of painting on canvas. In 2011, he visited two of Wyland’s art galleries in
Key West, Florida and appreciated the artistic talent of one of Wyland’s
“whaling walls” (ie.large exterior mural) found in the Keys, only one
among hundreds of such projects by Wyland, in more than 30 countries, in
his continued efforts for marine life conservation in the world.
